Over the past decade, it has become clear we all need to do more to reduce the impact of our activities on the environmental integrity of our beautiful planet. In our particular world of graphics and visual communications, this reality embraces every phase of the production chain, from raw materials to printing and finishing.
While we at Drytac have always prided ourselves on being ahead of the curve (see our Interlam
Eco line of overlaminating films, our UK solvent recovery
system and our recycled packaging
policies) it has also become clear that we need to do even more.
Therefore, as of November 1, 2007, I have instructed the product development teams at our facilities in Bristol, UK and Taipei, Taiwan to make reducing Drytac's environmental impact their number one priority. I have further mandated senior management in our Richmond headquarters, Drytac Canada and all North American satellite offices to identify and implement policies that further contribute to this undertaking.
We have christened this initiative the Green Umbrella, in part to emphasize that there are multiple phases of change under this protective aegis. Furthermore, it is important to realize that real change will involve more than one product or process and will not happen overnight.
The Green Umbrella project includes, but is not limited to, strategies to reduce carbon emissions and pollutants. We are furthermore committed to partnerships with our suppliers, as well as with trade organizations ad government regulatory agencies.
