TINT’D Film and Graphic Solutions drives traffic to Toyota with Drytac Polar Grip

The diversified printing business used Drytac Polar Grip to produce several exterior signs for the local branch of vehicles manufacturer Toyota.

British Columbia-based diversified print business TINT’D Film and Graphic Solutions recently used Drytac Polar Grip white polymeric self-adhesive vinyl to produce a series of eye-catching, exterior graphics for a local branch of global vehicles manufacturer Toyota.

Working from its specialist facility in Langley, just south of Vancouver, TINT’D delivers a wide range of services to customers including printed graphics, window films and custom signage. The company works with a host of clients both in the local area and across Canada.

Among these customers is Toyota, which approached TINT’D for support with an exterior signage project. Toyota initially requested coroplast signs to be riveted to overhead doors at its site near to the TINT’D Langley facility.

Instead, TINT’D suggested a less damaging alternative and showcased several past projects where it wrapped similar door panels. This solution involves producing printed applications, protected with a laminate, with the company saying this significantly reduces the risk of failure compared to riveted plastic signs.

After Toyota agreed, TINT’D immediately got to work, opting to use Polar Grip. As a regular Drytac user, TINT’D was familiar with the material, having worked with the film on several other projects. Polar Grip features a high bond adhesive, allowing users to permanently apply graphics to surfaces such as metal, plastic, wood, glass and brick, making it an ideal solution for digitally printed signs or graphics.

Polar Grip was paired with Drytac’s Interlam Pro Matte pressure sensitive overlaminating film to further protect the signage, with both materials being supplied by exclusive Drytac Canadian distribution partner ND Graphics.

“Selecting the right product for the job is crucial, as is supporting Canadian businesses like Drytac,” said Jenn Boyd, President of TINT’D. “We had used another product from a different supplier in the past but have found that Polar Grip matches its quality and durability.

“Our installers have never faced any issues with Drytac’s films. In fact, it is quite the opposite. It’s a pleasure to work with a product that prints and installs seamlessly. When you step back and look at the finished work, the quality truly stands out.”

Using Polar Grip also ensured a successful installation despite the taking place during Canada’s cold winter months when temperatures regularly drop below freezing. Polar Grip is one of many ‘Polar’ products from Drytac that are cold weather install rated down to as cold as -20˚C (-4˚F).

After printing the signage in-house using an HP Latex 700W, the expert team at TINT’D installed the signage on location – drawing praise from Toyota staff in the process.

“The client was grateful for our suggestions and mentioned they had no idea we could wrap the aluminium ribbed panels to make them look painted,” Jenn said.

Jenn also reserved some praise of her own for Drytac, speaking highly of the company’s ongoing relationship with what she described as an “outstanding business with excellent products”.

“They invest in talented people who are always ready to support you, whether you need technical documents, installation instructions, warranties, or samples,” Jenn said. “You only have to ask once; they truly lead by example!”
